Sheffield Football Club
Sheffield FC are the world's first football club, which were formed on 24 October 1857 - a fact recognised by the FA and FIFA.The club appointed HR Media as their media relations consultancy to publicise Sheffield FC as part of their 150th anniversary celebrations.
HR Media assisted the club in promoting the attendance of FIFA president Sepp Blatter at their annual dinner in October 2007, while also handling the world's media at the unique event.
Sheffield FC also staged an exhibition game with Italian giants Inter Milan, attracting more than 18,000 supporters to the game, including Brazilian legend Pele and more than 40 members of the media.
During the month of October alone, Sheffield FC reached a circulation audience of more than 225million people with the media coverage they received.
As part of the celebrations, HR Media worked closely with Sheffield FC and the club's historian Graham Curry to produce a commemorative 150-page book marking the special anniversary.
HR Media has also supported the club in promoting their global Boots for Africa campaign which has, to date, raised more than 4,000 pairs of football boots for youngsters in Africa.
Sheffield FC, who are one of only two clubs in the world to receive a FIFA Order of Merit, has developed into a global brand with a special place in football history.
