Chamber announces four new patrons

Edge Telecom Ltd, Carwood Commodities Ltd, Regional Magazine Company and The University of Sheffield have joined the Chamber’s growing list of patrons.
These four new signings have given the Chamber its largest ever patron’s base, totalling 12, which combine a range of industry sectors and different sized businesses, from small and medium sized enterprises to large public sector organisations.
Edge Telecom Ltd is a fast growing telecommunications company with its roots in traditional voice and data products and services. Part of the GCI Telecom Group, it brings together over 50 years combined experience in all forms of telecom products and services.
Carwood Commodities Ltd is a scrap metal merchant, based on Stannington Road, Sheffield. The company is managed by Paul Hovers, alongside Stephen Bell and Stephen Sidebottom.
Regional Magazine Company produces many media titles including First for Business, which has recently won the contract to be the Chamber’s official magazine for another five years. The publisher also produces other titles including Westside and Sixer in Sheffield and more recently a range of books.
The University of Sheffield is one of the UK's leading universities with a reputation as a centre for world-class research in many disciplines. The University has over 24,000 students from 131 countries, and almost 6,000 staff.
Paul Reeves, director of membership services at Sheffield Chamber, said: “We are thrilled to sign up these four new patrons. They are big businesses with fantastic high profile names, which we are proud to be associated with.
“Patron’s are the key to the kudos of the Chamber. We are looking forward to working with these businesses to support community projects and city and sub-regional initiatives.”
Sheffield Chamber, which is also home to the South Yorkshire International Trade Centre and Sheffield Enterprise Agency, has a membership base of more than 2,600.
The patronage scheme is designed to support the Chamber in policies including the exchange of knowledge and expertise and promoting the voice of the local business community.
