Restauranteurs head to Sheffield

A successful chain of French bistros is launching its first restaurant in Sheffield, following the completion of an important new retail development in the city.

Le Bistrot Pierre, which is based in Nottingham and owns restaurants in four other locations across the country, has taken the first of three retail units on the new site close to the Somerfield supermarket on Ecclesall Road, Sheffield.

Structured and effective legal work from the Sheffield office of DLA Piper ensured the efficient disposal of the site which is located along one of the city's most popular areas for bars and restaurants.

DLA Piper acted on behalf of J F Finnegan throughout the whole development process, from legally structuring the development potential of the site with adjoining owners to its disposal. Now the last two retail units are attracting significant interest from retailers.

Andrew Wallis, associate in the real estate team at DLA Piper's Sheffield office, said: "Le Bistro Pierre are a successful and rapidly expanding restaurant chain who were quick to snap up this first class retail space in one of Sheffield's most successful shopping areas.

Le Bistro Pierre will open its first restaurant in Sheffield on 835-837 Ecclesall Road in January 2009.
