Rachel steps up into new role at cancer charity

Weston Park Hospital Cancer Appeal has appointed a new Charity Director.

Rachel Thorpe, who has worked at the Appeal for four years, has seized the opportunity to bring a new look to the leading Sheffield charity as it embarks on a new era.

From 22nd September the Appeal is set to be rebranded as Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity and will have an updated logo and new website.

Rachel said: "We are all very excited about our new name and contemporary new look.  This simply would not have been possible without the help and support of local businesses Ask4 and G Design and Advertising Ltd who have donated their expertise and services

The charity supports the work of Weston Park Hospital, one of only three dedicated cancer hospitals in the UK. All donations help to fund research, treatment and care for people living with cancer. 

During a career which spans 20 years as a professional fundraiser, Rachel has worked for a variety of well-known charities such as Help the Aged, The Samaritans and Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity.

Added Rachel: "The differences we are able to make not just in the hospital, but also in our Cancer Support and Information Centre and in our dedicated Cancer Research Centre would not be possible without the kind donations made by people and businesses in our community.

"We hope our supporters will like our new look and continue to support us in our efforts to help the thousands of people who are treated for cancer here at Weston Park or indeed in local district general hospitals under the care of Weston Park consultants."
