Pictures speak louder than words…

And as somebody who has carved a career around a love for the written word, you’d think I’d be biased to the opposite.
However, whilst I am a full supporter of well written copy, sometimes a picture really does make the story.
The right photograph can wield enormous power, taking the audience right to the heart of the action and creating an immediate connection between the viewer and the subject.
It can create emotion - making you want to laugh out loud or burst into tears without even leaving your seat.
To demonstrate, I’ll stop typing and point you in the direction of the 45 most powerful images of 2011, each of which tells a story without saying a single word.
