HGV investment delivers for DBL
This month we helped a leading Yorkshire logistics firm announce a six-figure investment into the expansion of their fleet of vehicles.
DBL Logistics, located on Tinsley Park Road in Sheffield, has invested more than £500,000 into six new Scania HGVs to further enhance its service.
As a result of a strong economic performance, which in turn led to rapid expansion, three Scania R450s and three P280s will arrive at DBL Logistics later this year. Three of the new 30-foot vehicles will feature state-of-the-art Opticruise transmission and all will be Scania’s most fuel-efficient models.
The investment will see DBL’s fleet swell from 17 to 23, and will enhance DBL’s service by further improving the company’s fuel efficiency, which will in turn help DBL to reduce its service costs and offer customers even better value for money.
This great move was not the only announcement by DBL Logistics to be made in the last month.
The family-run firm, which was formed in 1983, has not only invested in its fleet but also its staff, with important changes to the management structure at DBL Logistics taking place in recent months.
The restructuring has led to Adam Boyd, who is DBL’s operations, transport and health and safety manager, developing his role and becoming certified as an Associate Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health.
This certificate is sought-after in the logistics industry. The company are now able to take a further step forward and position themselves as an industry leader in health and safety.
Both DBL and Scania are excited for this new business venture, so watch this space – and keep your eyes peeled for when the new trucks take to the road!
